Who it fits

OxyLume Wheelchair Key Specs Explained

Range: 15 miles

The 12Ah lithium battery supports travel up to 15 miles on a single charge. This distance suits daily errands or short outings without frequent recharging. You can compare this range against other lightweight models to ensure it meets your typical daily distance needs. A 15-mile range provides reliable independence for local travel without the anxiety of running out of power mid-trip.

Weight Capacity: 330 lbs

The robust frame supports users up to 330 pounds. This capacity accommodates a wide range of body types while maintaining structural integrity. When shopping, compare this limit to standard models that often cap at 250 or 300 pounds. This higher limit ensures you can use the wheelchair safely and comfortably without worrying about exceeding the manufacturer's weight restrictions.

Motor Power: 500W

Dual 250W motors provide a total of 500W of power. This setup helps the chair navigate slopes up to 12 degrees smoothly. You can compare this power output to basic 250W models to gauge performance on inclines. The dual motor configuration offers better traction and control, making it easier to handle varied terrains and slight hills during your daily routine.

Total Weight: 45 pounds

The unit weighs 45 pounds, including the battery. This lightweight design makes it easy to lift into a car trunk or store in small spaces. Compare this weight to heavier standard wheelchairs that may require assistance to move. The manageable weight allows you to handle transportation and storage independently, enhancing your overall convenience and mobility freedom.

Seat Width: 16 Inch

The seat is 16 inches wide, providing a standard fit for most users. This width balances comfort with the compact foldable design. When shopping, compare this to wider 18-inch or 20-inch seats if you need extra room. A 16-inch seat ensures the wheelchair remains portable and fits through standard doorways while still offering adequate seating space for daily use.

You control movement via an ergonomic 360-degree joystick. The controller allows one-handed operation, which simplifies steering for daily tasks. You have two braking options. You can use the manual brake or rely on the automatic brake, which engages when you release the joystick. This dual system provides clear stopping control.

Before You Buy This Wheelchair

You should verify that your vehicle trunk can accommodate the folded dimensions of 38.5 inches by 19 inches. The listing states it is airline-approved, but you must confirm specific carrier policies for lithium battery transport. Ensure you have a reliable charger for the 12Ah lithium battery, as the listing does not include one. Regular maintenance involves checking the anti-tilt wheels and tires for wear to maintain stability on slopes up to 12 degrees. This model competes with other lightweight foldable options by offering a 330-pound capacity. You need to decide if the 16-inch seat width meets your comfort needs. If you require a wider seat, check the available 18-inch and 20-inch variations. Proper storage in a dry place will extend the life of the electronic components. This unit suits users who prioritize portability and moderate range over heavy-duty terrain capability.

Check before you buy

• Check your car trunk space for the folded 38.5-inch length.
• Confirm airline lithium battery rules before traveling.
